The PhD in clinical research is a two year full time programme
for those students who wish to contribute into growing research and development field. This programme offers them various
areas of research to choose from in the clinical research field. It opens up
many doors for the student to take up suitable teaching assignments as well as

Subsequently the student has to choose a guide/mentor and
work with the mentor to develop a synopsis which if accepted by the research
committee becomes the topic of the thesis. The thesis and the PhD have to be
done in accordance with the UGC guidelines
2009(these are available on the UGC website).The student has to meet with the
guide regularly at least once a week. The minimum period of time for the thesis
to be completed is two years but the student can take more time for which an
additional fee is payable. The thesis is to be presented to the research
committee and defended. Student has the possibility of suggesting a guide but
the guide has to be approved by the University and must meet the norms
specified by UGC.
The teaching methods employed in reputed institutions are
basically classroom lectures, presentations, seminar, case study analysis,
workshops for skill enhancement, industrial visits, and projects. The PhD courses in Clinical research can
open up various job opportunities for you in clinical trials, clinical
research, drugs development and many more in several reputed companies. As
various foreign companies are investing in India in clinical research field
because of its low cost of operation in comparison to western companies; the

During two years of this programme, students are taught a
component of one semester of classes in Research methodology regularly at the
campus, and those who came from non-clinical research programme will undergo additional
3 months of academic training to get acquainted with the basic aspects of
clinical research.
The eligibility for PhD courses in Clinical research is: Masters in Life Sciences /
Microbiology / Biotechnology / Pharmacy / Medicine / Nursing / Physiotherapy /
Dentistry / Homeopathy / Ayurvedic and Veterinary Science. The student should also pass the university
test and interviews with minimum 55% marks in graduation from an UGC recognised
university.
